More Sales Less Time: Surprisingly Simple Strategies for Today’s Crazy-Busy Sellers
The last couple of months, I’ve been on a mission to try and make as much of my time focused on “RPA” as possible. “RPA” stands for Revenue Producing Activity. We in sales and, for that matter, everyone in life struggle with being productive. The demands on our time are simply overwhelming.
What I can tell you is my mission to be RPA focused is just that — a mission! I have no idea when or if it will ever be completed. I admit that as much as I try to get focused, I struggle. I suspect I’m not alone and you too feel the same way.
Jill Konrath, who I greatly respect and am privileged to call a friend and peer, has just written a book I think was written for people like us. Jill is an incredible author. I imagine you’ve probably read other books she’s written on sales. If you’ve read any of her books, you know she is a master at writing in a way that is clear, concise and engaging.
We’re closing out a year and soon going to be staring at a brand new year, and as such I bet you’re asking yourself what you can do to help make 2017 better than 2016. I’ll suggest right now you buy her new book, More Sales Less Time.
Reading her book was the first thing I did this morning and I’m writing this blog post now, because I want to get the word out quickly to you and others about the book.
There are several reasons why I think you’ll find this book different from other productivity books, and it starts with Jill sharing her personal battle with being productive. That right there makes the book real, as it’s not some research study filled thesis that will bore you to death.
It’s real world challenges with real work solutions.
Jill shares apps she’s tried, she walks through issues of deadlines and yes she walks through the issues of selling when time is short.
Want to know what I am going to do differently after reading her book? Three things:
First, I’m going to be far more deliberate in blocking my calendar and sticking to it.
Second, I’m shutting down email for longer periods of time each day to avoid being distracted.
Third, I’m refocusing my mental and physical state as to how I approach my workspace, including my office, my laptop, and my smartphone.
Grab a copy of the book and let me know what you think, and hey as you read the book, make sure you take advantage of the downloads Jill has in the book. Each download is designed to help you benefit more from what she’s writing about.
