Selling is nothing more than leading people, so lead well. Remember, the most successful leaders are those who have the greatest integrity.
I’ve seen so many salespeople with all of the skills necessary to become high performers flame out simply because they failed to lead with integrity. Nobody sells in a vacuum. Everyone has competition and, as a result, every salesperson will always be compared to another one. In this regard, I’m amazed at how shallow some salespeople think. For some reason, they don’t believe their customers view how they interact and lead as part of the selling process. Whenever you’re out selling, ask yourself these questions: “Are my customers better off because I had the privilege to meet with them today? If so, why? If not, why not?” Remember, what you’re selling today will eventually be gone, but your actions and your leadership have the ability to impact for life!
