How far can optimism take you? Is optimism ever blind?
These are good questions to ponder at any point in your sales process, but especially if you hit roadblocks. I believe genuine optimism is not stopped by setbacks when there is passion involved. For example, if you truly believe in something (a business, an idea, a goal, a product) and you are passionate about it, setbacks will never permanently derail you. Never. If anything, optimism in those situations equips you to become more determined and more focused.
Optimism can carry you through the lowest of lows and accelerate you through the highest of highs. But optimism does not simply materialize out of thin air. You have to feed it. You have to intentionally surround yourself with like-minded positive people, fill your mind with beneficial information and tips, and limit your exposure to negativity. The more you do this, the more you will create the circumstances that allow you to carry your optimism into action. And that’s the key. Having an optimistic outlook is not near as important as ACTING upon that outlook…making decisions, taking steps, and finding solutions.
How far is optimism taking you? I would love to know.
