Whenever I speak to salespeople, one point I try to emphasize is that “sales is leadership — and leadership is sales.”
Surprisingly, some salespeople just wouldn’t categorize themselves as leaders.
Let me assure you, though, that anyone who wants to excel in sales must see the tremendous influence they have. When you influence someone to invest in your product or service because it meets their need or want, then you are demonstrating leadership!
Recently I put together a short video that highlights one of my speaking engagements. While I do develop a number of customized programs on specific selling skills, I also have presentations where I focus more broadly on sales motivation and leadership.
Take a look at the video and let me know what you think:
Leadership and High-Profit Selling
And remember that becoming the kind of salesperson who maximizes profits cannot happen without becoming a leader — and viewing yourself as one!
