Question:  How do you handle “Do Not Call” compliance? Do you use any outside tools?

The Sales Hunter’s Response:  I hate to say it, but too many times the laws around who you can and cannot call wind up creating a mental block in your own mind as to why you can’t cold-call.  It’s unfortunate.  Yes, there are laws to follow, but cold-calling is more a mental state of mind than anything else.  

Two things I’d encourage you to do are:

1.  Visit http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

2.  Check with your attorney.  Be careful, however, when talking to your attorney.  You’ll find every attorney has a slightly different take on what you can and cannot do. 

Since I deal in B to B, my rule is if you believe in yourself and what you’re providing, call away.  The laws in place are geared primarily for B to C.
