10 ways to increase motivationDoes your level of sales drive your motivation or does your motivation drive your sales?

Yes, it is a chicken or egg type of question.

In my mind they drive each other, but in the end I want to close as many sales as possible, so it means my motivation needs to be at its highest.

Here are 10 ways to increase your motivation and your sales:

1. Celebrate your successes each day.

End every day congratulating yourself on whatever it is you did that was successful.   Yes, some days might border on lousy, but there’s still something you can celebrate.

2. Set a small goal you know you can accomplish first thing Monday morning as a way to jumpstart your motivation.

3. Don’t allow yourself to hang around with negative people wherever they might be.

Negative people have only one goal and that is to make sure others around them are negative.

4. Hang around with positive people.

It might be a certain customer or another salesperson, but you become who you associate with. If you want to be positive, you need to hang around positive people.

5. Never think you’re a victim of something.

Stuff can and will go wrong. It’s part of life. It exists in any job. Don’t allow yourself to think stuff only happens to you. Getting into thinking everything is out of your control is only going to lower your motivation even more.

6. Focus on the solution, not the problem.

For that matter, don’t view anything as a problem, rather view them as opportunities waiting to be solved.

7. Always view yourself as the person who is going to help customers see and achieve things they didn’t think were possible.

8. Believe in yourself and be thankful for each person you meet.

View each encounter as a new opportunity to make a positive impact.

9. View each day as a privilege to learn something new that will help you succeed even more.

10. You are the best person to motivate you.

Since you know yourself the best, you’re in the best position. Don’t wait for others. Take things into your control and get moving.

Bonus: Don’t wait! Do it now. This may not sound like something motivational, but it sure is. You know your priorities. The sooner you tackle them, the better you’ll feel.
